To implement an efficient and sustainable energy solution for Amazon’s extensive warehouse in Tilbury, Essex, meeting high energy demands while upholding environmental sustainability commitments.

The challenge

Amazon needed an efficient and sustainable energy solution for their extensive warehouse in Tilbury, Essex, the largest in the UK and one of Europe’s biggest logistics buildings. The challenge was to power the 2.2 million sq.ft distribution facility at the Port of Tilbury in a way that met its high energy demands and upheld Amazon’s commitment to environmental sustainability.

What was involved?

Eco Green Roofs undertook this ambitious project to install a comprehensive Solar PV array on the rooftop of Amazon’s warehouse. The project involved careful planning and execution to maximise energy efficiency and sustainability. The installation comprised 1271 Traina 275w solar modules, coupled with 7 Huawei 36kW Inverters. This setup was chosen for its proven efficiency and reliability, ensuring the facility could be powered effectively. Eco Green Roofs, known for their expertise in large scale commercial projects, provided a complete service package from initial design to final installation.

The solution?

The solution provided by Eco Green Roofs was a 350kWp Solar PV array, which was meticulously installed on the warehouse rooftop. This stateof-
the-art system was engineered to optimise energy generation and meet the electricity needs of the facility. The use of Traina solar modules and Huawei inverters was integral to the project, ensuring maximum efficiency and reliability. Eco Green Roofs’ expertise in green technology was evident in their ability to design and implement a system that could seamlessly integrate with the building’s existing infrastructure.

The results

The installation of the 350kWp Solar PV array has been a resounding success. The system has been commissioned and is now fully operational,
